Aging - is it inevitable?
Well, the simple answer is YES. Of course we all
know that aging is inevitable.
However, are there predictable and measurable changes that occur as we age that we may be able to measure? Can we leverage and affect these markers in an attempt to deter some of the loss of function that occurs?
Measuring 'aging'?
While we may not have a clear and definitive understanding as to why aging occurs we certainly know it does. There are specific patterns of deterioration & degeneration that are measurable and predictable. These changes are measurable by observing levels of known biomarkers - biological markers that have been well correlated with the progression of the aging process.
What Really Matters?
There are many things that change as we age. What we're most concerned with are the changes in our body systems that directly results in or affect our quality of life. It must be functional, and we must be able to change it, otherwise it has no benefit to us.
There are three main systems we are concerned with here at Renewal Center:
- The Musculoskeletal System
- The Neuroendocrine System
- The Gastrointestinal System

The Gastrointestinal System:
With the standard american diet (SAD) being so poor and our chronic state of stress it's no wonder so many people have digestive complaints and issues. The quality and efficiency of your digestion is the foundation for good health and nutrition. Without it your 1 trillion cells can't get the necessary nutrients they need to repair and regenerate. This can contibute to accelerated aging, good cravings, weight gain, loss of muscle tissue and more.
If your digestion is compromised it must be addressed.
The Musculoskeletal System:
Your musculoskeletal system is the means by which your physical body expresses it's self. It's composed of all your muscles, bones and the tissues that connect them.
This is your frame, or your physical foundation.
Your structure will dictate function. Imbalances in structure pave the way for increased friction as a result of improper dissipation of forces within your skeletal system. This leads to and can accelerate the degenerative changes we see as we age.
Staying active physically can be challenging in today's day and age. However it's one of the most fundamentally important aspects to retarding much of the deterioratin of function we see with the aging process. We'll show you simple steps you can take to start moving and getting fit with ease. If you're already active, great!

The Neuroendocrine System:
Your neuroendocrine system is a vital component of the aging process and acts, essentially, as a 'pacemaker' that regulates your aging process and has a direct impact on your body composition by regulating the synthesis of important hormones.
All production and regulation of hormones including neurotransmitters (brain chemicals) are controlled and regulated by the Neuroendocrine system.
By measuring these unique biomarkers of aging we're able to determine how well your neuroendcorine system is standing up to the test of time.
By addressing them, in a proactive manner nutrition, bio-identical hormone supplementation and advanced exercise techniques we can ensure a state of graceful aging.
Out with the Old... And in with the New.
Renewal Center's philosophy is not to wage war on the aging process, but rather, to embrace it and support the body through it's natural course of aging to ensure we age in the best way possible and preserve the good function of our youth well into old age.
Our holistic programs will address the main components of the aging process.
